ENTER INTO LIFE–MATTHEW 7:13-14

ENTER INTO LIFE

MATTHEW 7:13-14

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Introduction:

This is the conclusion of the Lord’s Sermon on the Mount. The Lord admonished man to seek the Lord for salvation and of regulating his conduct.

Our Lord declares “that the way pointed out by him is indeed one hard to find and follow, and that there is great danger of being deceived by false guides, and of self-deception; yet he does not present these facts as an excuse for shrinking back, nor even say that in spite of these things we must make the effort, but urges the very difficulties as a reason for going forward.” —John A. Broadus.

I. AT THE STRAIT GATE

A. The way is narrow:

1. Your righteousness MUST EXCEED the righteousness of the Pharisees in order to enter the narrow gate, Matthew 5:20, “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

2. You must be CONVERTED in order to enter in at the Strait Gate, Matthew 18:3 “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

3. The RICH man finds it ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to ENTER at the Strait Gate, Matthew 19:23, “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a RICH man shall HARDLY [with difficulty] ENTER into the kingdom of heaven.”

a. The ENTRY is NOT stressed, but rather the CHOICE, Matthew 19:16, “And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”

b. One chooses BETWEEN the WORLD and LIFE eternal, Matthew 19:21-22, “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.”

c. You CAN’T choose both, Matthew 6:24, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

B. The way is DIFFICULT TO FIND.

1. There are FEW who find the way to heaven, Romans 9:27, 29, “Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.”

2. FEWER yet who ABIDE any time in it, Matthew 13:22, “He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”

3. FEWER STILL who WALK in it, Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

4. And FEWEST OF ALL who PERSEVERE unto the end, Acts 14:22, “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”

5. NOTHING renders this way EITHER NARROW or DIFFICULT to any person, BUT SIN, Romans 6:10-11, “For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

II. IF YOU ENTER AT THE WIDE GATE

This sentiment has been beautifully versified by Watts:—-

“Broad is the road that leads to death,

And thousands walk together there;

But wisdom shows a narrower path,

With here and there a traveller.”

A. STRIVE to enter at the Strait Gate, Luke 13:24, “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

B. There is the BROAD WAY that leads to DESTRUCTION, Genesis 6:5, 12, “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.”

1. The way that SEEMS RIGHT, Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

2. The END RESULT of that way is DEATH, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”

C. MANY GO IN at the BROAD gate, Isaiah 5:14, “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.”

CONCLUSION

The Lord concluded with the difficulty in finding the Strait Gate. He did not say it was impossible, but he did say that few there be that find it. Our sin is what keeps us from the narrow way to life.

DISCIPLES INDEED–MATTHEW 7:15-20

DISCIPLES INDEED
MATTHEW 7:15-20
Key verse: v. 16, “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”
Introduction:
“Ye are my disciples indeed,” or “in fact; in reality; in truth; truly” (used for emphasis, to confirm and amplify a previous statement). —Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary.
The Scriptures teach that a person is known by his or her fruits, i.e., by what they do.
“There are men of great gifts who are “false prophets” These affect the look, language, and spirit of God’s people, while really they long to devour souls, even as wolves thirst for the blood of sheep.” —C. H. Spurgeon.
I. YE SHALL RECOGNIZE THEM BY THEIR FRUITS
A. You shall know FULLY which are CORRUPT [decayed, rotten], v. 17; Matthew 12:33, “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.”
B. A man’s works are the “TONGUE of his heart,” Matthew 12:34-35, O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
II. EVERY GOOD TREE
A. A good tree brings forth GOOD fruit, v. 17; Psalms 1:3, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
B. A good tree CANNOT bring forth evil fruit, v. 18; John 3:9-10, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
III. A CORRUPT TREE
A. A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit, a spiritual principle based on a law in the natural world, Jude 12, “These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;”
1. Beware of these wolves, v. 15; Philippians 3:2, “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.”
a. Paul turns this term around and applies it to the Judaisers, Matthew 15:26, “But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.”
b. The evil workers or “deceitful workers,” 2 Corinthians 11:13, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.”
2. They come to us as prophets, with every outward commendation, “which come to you in sheep’s clothing,” v. 15; Mark 12:38, “And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,”
a. They are sanctimonious, making a hypocritical show of religious devotion, piety, righteousness, Matthew 6:2, “Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.”
b. They are hypocritical, John 10:1, 10, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
3. They are very Balaams, willing to curse those they pretend to bless, Numbers 22:12, “And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.”
B. This tree will be cut down and burned, v. 19; Deuteronomy 13:5, “And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.”
1. The axe is already laid at the root of the tree, Matthew 3:10, “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”
2. The false prophet is cursed of God, Matthew 21:19, “And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.”
CONCLUSION
v. 20, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
Their teaching, their living, and their effect upon our minds will be a sure test to us. Every doctrine and *doctrinaire may thus be tried. If we gather grapes of them, they are not thorns: if they produce nothing but thistle-down, they are not fig-trees. Some object to this practical method of test, but wise Christians will carry it with them as the ultimate touchstone. What is the effect of modern theology upon the spirituality, the prayerfulness, the holiness of the people? Has it any good effect?
*Doctrinaire is a person who tries to apply some doctrine or theory without sufficient regard for practical considerations; an impractical theorist.

COME TO THE WEDDING FEAST–MATTHEW 22:1-14

COME TO THE WEDDING FEAST
MATTHEW 22:1-14
Introduction:

“And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,..” [v. 1]. “This was Jesus’ reply to the hatred of the chief priests and Pharisees. He answered them by going on with his ministry. For them and for the people also, he spoke again by parables. They came to him with quibbles, he replied by parables.”

This parable is about the invitation to come to the Messiah for Jesus is speaking to the Jews and inviting them to receive Him as Savior.

I. THE MARRIAGE BANQUET

A. The banquet is intended to honor the King’s Son, vv. 1-2; Revelation 19:7, “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”

1. It is the Father’s will that all men should honor the Son, John 5:23, “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”

2. Those invited are blessed, Revelation 19:9, “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

3. It is a time of rejoicing, 1 Peter 1:8, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”

B. Everything was ready, vv. 3-4.

1. The King sent out his servants to invite the guest [Israel], v. 3; Psalms 68:11, “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.”

2. The King was patient, and gave the disloyal people a FURTHER OPPORTUNITY to come to the wedding feast and yet they resisted, Acts 7:51-52, “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. 52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:”

C. Those invited MADE LIGHT of the invitation, vv. 5-6; Psalms 106:24, “Yea, they DESPISED the pleasant land, they BELIEVED NOT his word:”

D. The rejection was gross discourtesy and insult, v. 7;

1. The indifferent unbelievers are contemptuous scorners, Jude 8, “Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.”

2. The other is absolutely hostile, a bitter persecutor, Acts 7:58, “And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.”

E. The King sends his army and burns the city, v. 7; Matthew 21:40, “When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? 41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.”

Note: Jesus is doubtless speaking prophetically about the people of Israel and the city of Jerusalem, which was fulfilled in 70 A.D., when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans.

II. OTHERS ARE INVITED TO THE FEAST

A. Go into the highways and invite whosoever will come, vv. 8-9; Mark 16:15-16, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

B. When the King was angry, even then he was gracious, 1 Peter 2:3, “If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”

III. THE ROBE OF GLADNESS

A. This robe is provided by the King, Isaiah 61:10, “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”

3. It is a white garment, Ecclesiastes 9:8, “Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.”

4. It is a robe washed in the Blood of the Lamb, Revelation 7:14, “And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

5. It is a garment fit for the bride of Christ, Revelation 19:8, “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.”

6. It is a garment that is UNDEFILED, Revelation 3:4, “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have NOT DEFILED THEIR GARMTS; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are WORTHY. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will CONFESS his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

7. Now there were guest from every kindred and nation present to be received by the King, Revelation 5:9, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;”

CONCLUSION

The conclusion of this message will be heard tonight at 6:00 PM.

There is a guest that is not dressed for the occasion. Come and hear the outcome of this great marriage feast.

COME–MATTHEW 11:28; REVELATION 22:20

COME
MATTHEW 11:28; REVELATION 22:20
Introduction:

“The cry of the Christian religion is the gentle word, ‘Come.’ The Jewish law harshly said, ‘Go, take heed unto thy steps as to the path in which thou shalt walk. Break the commandments, and thou shalt perish; keep them, and thou shalt live.’” — Charles Haddon Spurgeon

There is here a two-fold cry, “come.” The first is by the Lord as He admonishes to sinner to “come unto me.” The second cry comes from the believer as he suffers the anguish of living in a world without God and his soul cries out for the soon coming of the Lord.

I. THE CRY OF THE LORD, “COME.”

A. The Law drove men before it with commands, Deuteronomy 4:1, “Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.”

1. The law could not save you, Galatians 2:16, “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

2. The law manifested the distance between God and man, Ephesians 2:12, “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:”

B. God’s mercy admonishes us to “come,” Isaiah 55:3, “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”

1. Life is promised.

2. The “sure mercies of David” is the basis of God keeping His word, Psalm 89:28, “My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.”

C. The Gospel of Christ draws with bands of love, John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

1. The gospel draws the sinner in love, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

2. The gospel bridges that awful chasm, and brings the sinner across it, Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

D. Jesus woos us to come unto Him, Matthew 19:14, “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

1. Those who have “thirst” are invited to come, John 7:37-38, “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

2. Those that have a thirst for “righteousness” are invited to come and be filled, Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

E. He asks why we work for that which does not satisfy, Isaiah 55:2, “Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.”

1. Listen to me, God says, Isaiah 46:12, “Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:”

2. Listen to me and understand, Mark 7:14, “And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:”

a. Understand the Word of God, Nehemiah 8:8, “So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.”

b. Understand where you went wrong, Job 6:24, “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.”

c. Understanding is to be sought, Proverbs 2:4-5, “If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”

II. THE CRY OF THE BELIEVER IS “COME.”
A. You will be longing for His Second Coming, Revelation 22:20, “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

B. You will be looking for His Second Coming,

1. You don’t know the hour, Matthew 25:13, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Mark 13:35, “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:”

2. He has commanded us to watch, Mark 13:34, “For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.”

CONCLUSION

As the coming of the Lord get closer “you will be panting for nearer and closer communion with him. As his voice to you is ‘Come,’ your response to him will be, ‘Come, Lord, and abide with me. Come, and occupy alone the throne of my heart; reign there without a rival, and consecrate me entirely to thy service.’”

BLESSED ARE THOSE NOT OFFENDED IN ME–MATTHEW 11:1-6

BLESSED ARE THOSE NOT OFFENDED IN ME
MATTHEW 11:1-6

Introduction:

There are blessings to be had in Jesus Christ. It is a pity that so many will not accept Him as the Savior of this world. Here we will look at the situation that the Lord faced among His own people, His own nation; a people without faith in their Messiah.

The same situation exists here today. Men will not believe, not that they cannot, but they will not believe in Christ for salvation.

I. ISN’T THIS THE CARPENTER’S SON?

Matthew 13:55-57, “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? 57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.”

A. They were scandalized [to cause to stumble] by Him, John 6:42, “And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?”

B. A prophet is not accepted in his own country, Mark 6:4, “But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.”

C. Jesus could not do a mighty work because of their offence in Him, Mark 6:5-6, “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.”

II. WOE UNTO THOSE WHO CAUSE OFFENCES?

Matthew 18:7, “Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!”

A. The Pharisees of our days, Matthew 23:13, “But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.”

1. The liberal theologians of our day, Luke 11:52, “Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”

2. Those who attempt to hinder the preaching of the Word of God today, Acts 4:17-18, “But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. 18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.”

B. Those who lie claiming to know the Lord in order to get gain, 2 Peter 2:3, “And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”

1. Cursed children, 2 Peter 2:14, “Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:”

2. Those who have forsaken the right way, 2 Peter 2:15, “Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;”

III. ISN’T HE A “STONE OF STUMBLING AND FOR A ROCK OF OFFENCE?”

A. To the Jew a stumbling stone, Isaiah 8:14-15, “And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.”

1. From the beginning He was spoken against, Luke 2:34, “And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;”

2. God offered Him as a sanctuary, Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

B. His doctrine was and is TOO STRONG for many, John 6:60-61, “Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.”

IV. ISN’T IT FOR LACK OF FAITH THAT THEY ARE OFFENDED?

Romans 9:32-33, “Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

A. Without faith…

1. It is impossible to please God, Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

2. You cannot enter into His rest, Hebrews 3:18-19, “And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

3. The Word will not profit you, Hebrews 4:2, “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”

B. With faith the Word brings salvation, Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

CONCLUSION

Is Jesus an offence to you? Are you ashamed to be known as a Christian? Many in the Lord’s day have a great deal of difficulty with what He taught, as do many in our generation today.

However, Jesus continues to offer the only solution to our sin problem. He is still the Savior of this world. For He says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
