2. DAVID, Acts 13:22b, “….and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.”

B. Examples in the New Testament:

1. JESUS, John 4:34, “For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. John 5:30, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” John 6:38, “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”

2. THE APOSTLE PAUL, 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

III. Exortations

A. From Paul to the young pastor, Timothy: 1 Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
